I am also a teen librarian, which means I get paid to read new YA ARCs, host creative writing sessions for teens and tweens, and run a teen book discussion group once a month. I love my day job!

Religion and spirituality are big elements in most of my writing. I've read many YA books over the years which were either outright religious fiction or had no mention of religion at all. I really enjoy writing stories about teens who are struggling to understand their own spirituality. My books tend to ask tough questions and push the envelope when it comes to religion. Whether my characters are Christian, Jewish, Wiccan or something else entirely, I love exploring the role their beliefs (or lack of beliefs) plays in their lives.
